چکیده

Starting from the relation between the kinetic energy of a free Lévy–Schrödinger particle and the logarithmic characteristic of the underlying stochastic process, we show that it is possible to get a precise relation between renormalizable field theories and a specific Lévy process. This subsequently leads to a particular cutoff in the perturbative diagrams and can produce a phenomenological mass spectrum that allows an interpretation of quarks and leptons distributed in the three families of the standard model.

Mass spectrum and Lévy–Schrödinger relativistic equation

In this note we adopt the space-time relativistic approach of Feynman’s propagators (for bosons and fermions) instead of the canonical LagrangianHamiltonian quantized field theory. Indeed the former alternative is preferred to the latter for the developments of our basic ideas that exhibit the connection between the propagator of quantum mechanics and Lévy’s stochasticity. More precisely the re...

Phenomenology from relativistic Lévy–Schrödinger equations: Application to neutrinos

In a previous note [1] we showed that it is possible to derive and modify the relativistic Feynman propagator of a free (forceless) particle (fermion spin 12 , boson spin 0 and 1) on the basis of Lévy stochastic processes [2]. We adopt here the space-time relativistic approach of Feynman’s propagators (for bosons and fermions) instead of the canonical Lagrangian-Hamiltonian quantized field theo...

Lévy processes and Schrödinger equation

We analyze the extension of the well known relation between Brownian motion and Schrödinger equation to the family of Lévy processes. We propose a Lévy– Schrödinger equation where the usual kinetic energy operator – the Laplacian – is generalized by means of a pseudodifferential operator whose symbol is the logarithmic characteristic of an infinitely divisible law. The Lévy–Khintchin formula sh...

The Schrödinger Problem, Lévy Processes and All That Noise in Relativistic Quantum Mechanics

The main purpose of the paper is an essentially probabilistic analysis of relativistic quantum mechanics. It is based on the assumption that whenever probability distributions arise, there exists a stochastic process that is either responsible for temporal evolution of a given measure or preserves the measure in the stationary case. Our departure point is the so-called Schrödinger problem of pr...

The light baryon spectrum in a relativistic quark model with instanton-induced quark forces

This is the third of a series of papers treating light baryon resonances up to 3 GeV within a relativistically covariant quark model based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with instantaneous twoand three-body forces. In this last paper we extend our previous work [2] on non-strange baryons to a prediction of the complete strange baryon spectrum and a detailed comparison with experiment. We apply ...
